Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Lumin. By downloading or using the app, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Who We Are
Lumin is developed and operated by TypanLogix, based in Australia. If you have any questions about these terms, contact us at support@typanlogix.com.
Personal Use: This licence is for your personal use in connecting with one other person through the app.
Restrictions: You may not decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of the app.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Lumin, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
3. Subscription and Payment
Lumin offers optional Premium subscriptions. The following terms apply:
Subscriptions are available at AU$4.99/month or AU$24.99/year depending on the plan you selected.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings.
No refunds will be provided for partial subscription periods, except where required by Australian Consumer Law.
4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases
RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage Lumin Premium subscriptions.
Shared Access: One subscription unlocks premium themes for both users in a connected pair. This is a feature of the app and not a transfer of the subscription itself. The subscription remains tied to the purchasing user's Apple ID.
Payments: All financial transactions are processed through the Apple App Store. Subscription management and cancellations must be handled via your Apple ID settings.
Refunds: All refund requests must be directed to Apple.
5. Restore Purchases
If you reinstall the app or connect with a new person, you can restore your previously purchased subscription using the Restore Purchases option in Settings. Your subscription history is tied to your Apple ID.
6. Connections
Lumin is a two-person app. You may be connected to one other person at a time. When a connection is ended by either party, all shared connection data including theme history and streak data is permanently deleted from our servers. The user who purchased a subscription retains their subscription and may restore access on a new connection.
7. Your Content
You retain full ownership of any display names or personal information you enter within the app. TypanLogix does not claim any rights to this content.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app.
Use the app to harass, harm, or send unwanted contact to another person.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems or networks connected to the app.
Create fake connections or abuse the invite code system.
9. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the app — including but not limited to the app name, logo, design, code, themes, and features — are owned by TypanLogix. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for your personal use. This licence does not permit you to copy, modify, distribute, sell or sublicense the app or any part of it.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. TypanLogix does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the app at your own risk.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, TypanLogix shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. If you are an Australian consumer, you may have statutory guarantees that cannot be excluded. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
13. Privacy
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at typanlogix.com/lumin/privacy. By using the app you agree to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to the App
TypanLogix reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the app or any feature at any time with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuation of the app.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
16. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the app at any time if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the app will immediately cease.
17. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the app will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
