2. What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's features:

Content you create — books, reading sessions, mood selections, journal entries, final reflections, and reading certificates.

Subscription information — when you subscribe, Apple and RevenueCat process your payment. We receive confirmation of your subscription status only. We never receive your payment card details.

Notification preferences — whether you have enabled push notifications and your in-app notification settings.

We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or any other personal information unless you contact us directly.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the app's functionality:

Your books, sessions, and journal entries are stored so you can access and manage them.

Your subscription status is checked to determine whether you have access to Pro features.

Notification preferences are used to send daily reading reminders if you have enabled them.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

4. Local Storage

Resonate stores all your reading data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data does not leave your device unless you choose to share a Reading Certificate. We do not have access to your reading data.

5. RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. When you subscribe, RevenueCat processes and stores your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your payment details — all payments are handled directly by Apple. You can view RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

6. Push Notifications

If you grant permission, the app may send you local push notifications to remind you to read each day. You can disable these notifications at any time in your device's Settings app.

7. Your Rights

As a user you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.

Deletion — request that we delete your data. Since your reading data lives on your device, you can delete it directly from within the app using the Clear All Data option in Settings.

Portability — your reading certificates can be exported and shared at any time from within the app.

Withdraw consent — disable notifications at any time through your device settings, and cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Resonate: Book Journal is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Data Retention

Your reading data is retained for as long as you use the app and remains on your device. If you delete the app, your data is deleted with it. Subscription records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple in accordance with their respective policies.

10. Third Party Services

The app uses the following third party services:

Apple In-App Purchase — payment processing. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat — subscription management. Governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

We do not use any third party analytics, advertising networks, or data brokers. We do not sell your data to any third party.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. Governing Law

This privacy policy is governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
